Feedback Release and Setting up Penalties

Releasing Feedback and Setting Up Penalties for Multi-Format Exams.

Teachers now have the option to release grades and feedback directly from the Moderation tab once multi-format exams are marked. To release feedback, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Release feedback button in the Moderation tab, which opens up an option of Release now for everyone and Release selectively (for specific students and groups).

2.    After this, teachers would have to select the feedback visibility for students. One of the         following options can be selected:
  • Students can see all answers, comments and marks
  • Students can see only their answers and comments
  • Students can see only their marks

There is also an option to let the students download a PDF copy of their marked exam.

3.    Click on Release. If you select the Release now for everyone option, the grades and feedback will be published for all students.

4.   If you select the Release selectively option, there is an option to schedule the grade release later. Feedback can be released exclusively by filtering the students by tags and individual names, which may be flagged for any reason. Click on Add to Schedule to continue adding more release rules.

Once you’ve added the details, click on Save and Continue, and check the feedback release disclaimer to publish grades.

NOTE: Once the feedback has been released for any student in the class, no further class-wide moderation decisions like adding penalties or updating answers can be made.

Setting Penalties

  1. Click on the Set-up Penalties button in the Moderation tab, and it will open up a dashboard where rule-based penalties can be added for individuals or groups of students.
  2. In the penalties dashboard, select the penalty type. If selecting the late by more than penalty type, select the duration post which submissions will be penalised (which can be set according to days, hours, or minutes), tags (if applicable), and the points deducted for the delay.
  3. If selecting the Other penalty type, select the comments with reasons for the penalty, tags (if applicable), which students the penalty will be applied to, and the points deducted. There is also an option of not applying these penalties with other penalties. Check the box beside this option at the bottom to use this feature.

4.   Use the edit and delete button at the top to revise and remove existing penalties. Click the Add another penalty button to include new penalties. Click on Reset all penalties to create new penalty rules.
