Applying late penalties (Blackboard)

Learn how to apply late penalties to student submissions when marking

Once you have finished grading submissions for your Cadmus assessment, you can apply late penalties to student submissions by:

• Grade Centre
• Turnitin Feedback Studio

Grade Centre

To apply a late penalty

1. Open your subject’s Blackboard site and navigate to the Grade Centre section.
2. Duplicate the Cadmus assessment column.
3. Click the arrow next to the original Cadmus assessment column for more options. Select Edit column.
4. Under the Options section, select No for Include this column in Grade Center calculations and Show this column to students.
5. Click the arrow on the column again to Hide column. 
6. Add your updated, penalised grades to the duplicate Cadmus column.

Turnitin Feedback Studio

To apply a late penalty

1. in Blackboard, navigate to your Assignments section, using the left side panel and access the Cadmus assessment.
2. Once in Cadmus, navigate to the Marking page.
3. Next to the relevant student, click Mark to be redirected to Turnitin Feedback Studio. 
4. Add the new, penalised mark in Turnitin.
