Working Offline

While we strongly recommend working online, we understand that you need to work at different times, in different places - sometimes without an internet connection.

An internet connection is required to open Cadmus and to submit work. Drafting and editing can be done offline, but connection to the internet is required to save any offline changes to the cloud.

How to know you're working offline:

  1. Open Cadmus while you still have an internet connection.
  2. If Cadmus is open in your browser, and your internet connection drops, you'll see the 'Working Offline' notification will display.
  3. The save status next to the Review to Submit button will show saving. This indicates that changes made while working offline are saved locally to the browser's cache until you reconnect to the internet.

Saving work completed offline:

  1. While working offline, Cadmus continuously attempts to reconnect in the background. Any changes made are saved locally to the browser's cache.
  2. Use your network settings to re-establish an internet connection.
  3. Once you're back online, the 'Working offline' notification will disappear and the save status next to the Review to Submit button will change to saved. This indicates that the changes are backed up to the cloud.

Note: To protect work completed offline, including data stored on your browser, it is important that you don’t close your browser, refresh your window, or clear your internet cache/history.

Please avoid using incognito or private browsing to access Cadmus as this can affect how offline work is saved.
