After the group and individual reports are submitted and the peer and self evaluations are finalised, teachers can proceed to Marking. The Marking feature provides instructors with a streamlined and flexible grading workflow that enables targeted feedback and ensures fair and transparent marking.


With rubric-based marking and commenting, teachers can provide relevant feedback across the body of group work and individual submissions. Attribution of personal credit is effortless, as all the relevant information at a student and group level is provided next to each other, allowing teachers to compare and contrast easily.

Use the Analytics tab


To mark Group Assessments in Cadmus-

  1. Navigate to the Marking tab in the Teacher Dashboard.
  2. At the top, you will find the marking statistics such as submission rates, number of marked submissions, and number of submissions yet to be marked.
  3. You will find two key tabs below the marking statistics. The Group Work tab contains all group reports, whereas the Individual Work tab contains work submitted by students for the individual reports. Both these tabs contain information such as submission timestamps, similarity score, submission PDF, group number and grade. You will find options to Contact Student or View Activity Report by clicking on the three dots next to the grade column.
  4. Filters can be applied based on group, marker, submission status, similarity score, and grade for a refined view. You will also find a search bar to the right that helps find specific groups or students. Clicking the three dots to the right of the search bar allows you to download all final submissions, grades, the assessment report, and view assessment analytics.
  5. To begin marking, click on the Mark button adjacent to a group or an individual student. This will take you to the Marking panel, where you can toggle between the Group Report, Individual Report, Peer Evaluation, and Analytics tabs.



  6. In the Group Report tab, you will find a dropdown that helps select which group to mark at the top, and navigation between groups is possible using left and right arrows or the Next Group button.

    To the right, you will find the Marking and Feedback tabs. The Marking tab displays marking criteria per the selected rubric. Clicking on ratings would automatically calculate marks. Custom marks can be input by clicking on the mark box.

    In the Feedback tab, comments can be added by selecting a portion of the work. Clicking on the three dots on the comment box will allow you to link the comment to a specific criterion from the rubric.

  7. In the Individual Report tab, you will find dropdowns and navigation based on groups similar to the Group Report tab.

    To the right, you will find the Marking and Feedback tabs. You can switch between submissions by either selecting the student name from the dropdown or clicking the Next Student button.

    In the Marking tab, you can grade using the rubric selected for the individual report. Custom marks can be input by clicking on the mark box.

    In the Feedback tab, comments can be added by selecting a portion of the work. Clicking on the three dots on the comment box will allow you to link the comment to a specific criterion from the rubric.

  8. The three dots option at the top of the Group Report and Individual Report tabs allows editing or deleting the rubric for the individual report.
  9. In the Peer Evaluation tab, you can view how group members have evaluated their peers. There’s a dropdown at the top to filter students. There is a Feedback Received - Feedback Given toggle pill to switch views between feedback received by a student versus feedback given by them. The Show Comments toggle pill allows viewing or hiding the anonymous comments students left for their peers.



Analytics Tab

Analytics provides a bird's-eye view for teachers to understand the writing process and progress via the task summary and activity report at the group or student level. The teacher can quickly access and download essential metrics such as the word count or paste ratios across customisable dates at the student level.

The Analytics tab can be found in the Marking panel. You can select individual or multiple students using the dropdown at the top. It contains:

  1. Tasks Summary section - Information about the number of tasks linked to charter milestones that are on track, in progress, overdue, and the total number of tasks.
  2. Activity Report section - Information about the word counts, subsequent paste ratios for students across a customizable date range that can be applied by clicking on the Date Ranges dropdown and selecting ‘From’ and ‘To’.
  3. Engagement section - Information about the total number of comments, resolved, unresolved, and deleted comments added by students for the group report.
