Administrator Panel

This guide walks through how to access the Administrator Panel in Cadmus and how to use it to manage assignments and exams more efficiently.

In this guide, we’ll cover how to:

  1. Access the admin panel
  2. Navigate the admin panel
  3. Bulk Update settings

Access the Admin Panel

To open the Admin Panel, launch any Cadmus assessment via the LMS. From the Instructions tab in Cadmus, click the settings icon in the top right corner, then select Admin Panel. This will open the dashboard in a new tab.

Only users with admin access will see this option. If access is needed, please reach out to your Cadmus Learning Support Manager or Cadmus Support at support@cadmus.io.


Navigate the admin panel

At the top of the dashboard, you can switch between Exams and Assignments, with a total count shown for each. 

Filters are available to help you quickly find what you need. You can filter by:

Subject
Author
Format
Key dates

Selecting More filters allows you to refine further using options like special considerations, timings, auto-submission, resubmissions, security settings, marking tools, and more.

Once filters are applied, click Apply Filters to narrow your results, or Clear all filters to reset. You can also use the search bar to look up assessments by name or course.

Below the filters, you’ll see a list of assessments. Quick filters let you switch between live, released, draft, and completed items. The list has all the settings and requirements information for each assignment and exam. You can customise the table using Manage Columns, or export the data using Export CSV.

Use the left side check box to select an assignment/exam. Selecting an assessment allows you to:

View it in Cadmus
Update settings
Adjust timings

These options are also available via the three-dot menu beside each item.

View Exam option will take you to the exam environment on Cadmus, and you can make any changes to the instructions or settings directly. The Update Exam Time and Exam Settings will let you make changes to the settings and exam timings from the admin panel dashboard itself. Changes can be saved directly from the panel by selecting Confirm changes.


For completed exams, you’ll have options to:

View as Teacher (opens in LMS)
Send Reminder (for marking completion)

If you select a live or draft assignment from the list, you may update assignment settings, update the due date, and view the assignment. These options can also be accessed by clicking on the three dots to the right.

The View Assignment option will take you to the assignment environment on Cadmus, and you can make any changes to the instructions or settings directly. The Update Due Date and Assignment Settings will let you make changes to the settings and exam timings from the admin panel dashboard itself. Click Confirm changes after making edits to save them.

If you select a completed assignment from the list, you have the options to View as Teacher, which takes you to the exam environment on Canvas, and Send Reminder, which allows you to send reminders to complete marking for a closed exam.


Bulk Update Settings

The Admin Panel allows updates across multiple assessments at once. To do this:

  1. Use filters to find the relevant assessments

  2. Select them using the checkboxes

  3. Choose Exam Settings or Update Exam Time

  4. Apply your changes and confirm

You can adjust settings such as timings, reading time, writing time, and other configurations.  Similarly, assignment settings can also be updated or changed in bulk.

NOTE: Bulk updates apply only to live, released, or draft assessments. Mixed formats (e.g. group and classic) cannot be updated together.
