Accessing Student Work Playbacks
Learn how to view student work timelines within Cadmus
Academics can now view video timelines of student work from the Progress and Learning Assurance tabs in Cadmus, enabling them to view editing, drafting, and revision behaviours to understand the authenticity and depth of student work. Video playbacks are available for Classic, Multi-format, and Group assessments (both group and individual work).
To view student timeline playbacks, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Progress tab. In the class list, find the student whose work you wish to review.
- Click on the three dots (More) on the right, and click the View Timeline button.

- You can also access student work playbacks from the Learning Assurance tab. In the learning assurance analytics table, scroll to the right to find the three dots (More). Click the View Timeline button to open the timeline view.

- In the timeline view, click on the play button to view the work reconstruction. Click the reload button to the side of the play button to play from the beginning. You can scroll to any point of the timeline using the seek bar. You can also choose between 0.5x, 1x, and 2x playback speeds.
- Toggle on the Auto Scroll button to automatically jump to the student’s active working point. Active working points are highlighted in yellow for easier reference. If Auto Scroll is turned off, you would’ve to scroll to the student’s active working point manually.

- Click on the Start Recording button to download the timeline video. You can download the entire timeline video from the beginning or from any given playback position.
