Access Codes in Cadmus Exams
Learn how to manage and use access codes for Cadmus exams
Access codes are unique entry codes that can be used to control access, conduct secure exams, and support academic integrity. When enabled, students will need to enter a valid code before they can access the exam.
Enabling access codes
The Access Code requirement setting can be enabled from the requirements and settings page in Cadmus, under the Assessment Integrity section.
When access codes are enabled, one code is automatically generated.
To create additional codes, click the Generate More button. By default, generated codes will use labels such as Exam Code 1, Exam Code 2, and so on.
You can also:
- Copy a single code using the Copy icon beside each code
- Click Copy all codes to copy every code at once
- Rename the label to help identify different codes easily

Student experience
When students open the exam link from their LMS, they will see a pop-up asking them to enter an access code before they can begin the assessment.

Viewing access code usage
Any access codes used by a student will appear in:
- Progress tab

- Learning Assurance tab

- Sessions log within the Activity Report
